Overview

Our food tour is a chance to understand Chania’s spirit truly. Led by enthusiastic locals with years of experience, you’ll enjoy delicious food while learning about Chania’s traditions and way of life.

Walking through Chania’s cobblestone streets, your local guide will tell you the secrets and stories attached to the city.  Your morning starts the “Cretan way” with a freshly baked bougatsa and a cup of rich Greek coffee. Through our partnership with a local herbal specialist, you get a hands-on introduction to the rare wild herbs that contribute to the uniqueness of Cretan cuisine.

The next destination is a traditional “kaltsounadiko” bakery, where you will try handmade Cretan pies prepared using traditional recipes. Our guides will show you Chania’s beautiful Venetian architecture and tell you interesting stories about its multicultural past as you make your way to the Old Port.

Your gastronomic trip continues with nibbles of “Sfakiani” pies (thin, crispy cheese pies, drizzled with thyme honey), crunchy “Dakos” salads, a selection of local cheeses, and traditional gyros, which are best enjoyed with a cool beer (Chania produces some of the best beers in Greece). The perfect finishing touch will be the warm, honey-drizzled loukoumades with smooth ice cream.
