Join us for a unique cultural experience in the heart of the Cretan countryside, guided by passionate locals who share their love of the island’s traditions and stories. Your day begins in a quiet village where Aunt Katina welcomes you to her traditional home with homemade lemon juice. This sets the tone for a day full of hospitality and culture.

Next, enter the historic church of Agia Paraskevi and admire its well-preserved Venetian frescoes, which provide a stunning insight into Crete’s multi-layered history. Your journey continues to the Agarathos Monastery, a place of great spiritual and historical significance. Here your tour guide will give you an insight into the role of the monastery in religious life and in the resistance movement on Crete.

From there, the tour continues to a local winery in the hills. Sample regional wines and traditional snacks and learn more about local wine growing.

A culinary highlight awaits you when you learn how to prepare tasty Cretan pies in the ruins of a Venetian house. This combines storytelling and a sense of place. We end the tour with a relaxing coffee at Antonis’ Kafenio, where you can unwind and reflect on the day with your fellow travelers and hosts.
