Discover the colorful, fresh Cretan cuisine with our fantastic cooking class, held in a traditional Cretan village south of Heraklion. The experience starts at a Cretan farm where you’ll pick the goods you’ll later use in your cooking. This was the everyday life of Cretans for centuries. Starting the day at the farm and returning home to cook for the family with any ingredients they’d find. 

In a traditional Cretan kitchen, you’ll learn step-by-step how to prepare a hearty Cretan meal. The dishes include the iconic Yemista (peppers and tomatoes stuffed with rice, virgin olive oil, and herbs), Village Chicken, various Meze Dishes, and Greek dips. While you cook, your expert local cook will tell you all the secrets of the Mediterranean diet (and its renowned health benefits) and fantastic stories about Crete’s past and present. 

The best part comes when you gather around the table and enjoy the feast you prepared. Paired with the local spirit, Raki, we guarantee you will have an unforgettable day in the Cretan countryside. The cooking workshop takes place in a traditional Cretan village located south of Heraklion. Transportation to and from the village is not included in the tour price, but our team can gladly arrange a private transfer from your accommodation upon request and at an additional cost. Whether you’re staying in Heraklion or nearby, we’ll ensure your journey to this authentic countryside experience is as seamless and comfortable as possible.
